PCA Ultra Peel
The PCA SKIN® Ultra Peel is a medium-depth chemical peel formulated to treat maturing skin, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and promote a more even, youthful complexion. This TCA-based treatment delivers deeper exfoliation for clients ready for more advanced results.
When surface-level peels aren’t enough to address your skin concerns, the PCA Ultra Peel offers a more intensive solution. Developed by PCA SKIN®, this medium-depth peel harnesses the power of 10% trichloroacetic acid (TCA) combined with 24% lactic acid to penetrate beyond the surface layers of the skin, treating fine lines, wrinkles, uneven tone, and age-related textural changes with precision and care.
Understanding the PCA Ultra Peel
The Ultra Peel is a blended TCA peel specifically designed for maturing skin. Its multi-acid formula works at a medium depth to promote significant exfoliation, stimulate collagen production, and accelerate cellular renewal. The combination of TCA and lactic acid provides both resurfacing power and hydration, making it effective yet tolerable for a range of skin types, conditions, and sensitivities.
PCA SKIN® developed this peel as part of their blended TCA line, which uses Multi-Acid Synergistic Technology (MAST) to combine peeling agents at lower individual doses while maintaining the same level of efficacy, resulting in better tolerance and less irritation compared to single-acid formulations at higher concentrations.
Why Choose the PCA Ultra Peel?
Targets Aging Skin – The Ultra Peel is specifically formulated for clients dealing with fine lines, wrinkles, and loss of skin firmness that come with maturing skin.
2
Deeper Exfoliation – With a 10% TCA concentration, this peel reaches beyond the superficial layers to treat uneven texture, sun damage, acne scarring, and stubborn discoloration more effectively than lighter peels.
3
Even Skin Tone – The blend of TCA and lactic acid helps correct visible hyperpigmentation, including sun damage, melasma, and post-inflammatory discoloration, when used in combination with daily SPF.
4
Hydration Support – Lactic acid, a key ingredient, is part of the skin’s natural moisturizing factor. It promotes exfoliation while simultaneously hydrating the skin, helping to prevent the excessive dryness that can accompany deeper peels.
5
Versatile Application – While designed for maturing skin, the Ultra Peel is appropriate for many other skin types and conditions, including adult acne, smoker’s skin, and dehydrated skin with uneven surface texture.
What to Expect During Treatment
Your provider will cleanse the skin and evaluate your readiness for a medium-depth peel. The Ultra Peel solution is applied in carefully monitored layers, with your provider assessing your skin’s response between each application. A mild-to-moderate tingling or warmth is expected and will be managed with cooling as needed. Treatment takes approximately 30–45 minutes.
Following the peel, expect more visible peeling than with superficial peels, typically beginning 2–3 days post-treatment and lasting up to 5–7 days. This is a normal part of the skin renewal process and is a sign the treatment is working.
PCA Ultra Peel Aftercare
Because the Ultra Peel delivers deeper exfoliation, following your aftercare instructions closely is especially important.
Do use only gentle, fragrance-free cleansers during the peeling phase. Apply a non-comedogenic moisturizer frequently to keep skin comfortable and hydrated. Wear broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every day, your skin will be significantly more sun-sensitive. Use only PCA SKIN® post-procedure care products as directed by your provider. Stay well-hydrated and be patient, full results emerge as peeling resolves and new skin surfaces.
Don’t pick, pull, or force peeling skin—allow it to shed on its own. Avoid retinoids, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and benzoyl peroxide for 5–7 days post-treatment. Do not apply makeup for at least several hours after the peel, or until your provider advises it is safe. Avoid scrubs, exfoliating cleansers, and mechanical exfoliation tools during the entire peeling phase. Refrain from direct sun exposure and tanning beds for a minimum of 2 weeks. Do not wax or tweeze treated areas for at least 8 days or until the skin is no longer sensitive. Avoid strenuous exercise and excessive sweating for the first 24–48 hours.
Who Is the PCA Ultra Peel For?
The Ultra Peel is best suited for clients who have experience with chemical peels and are ready for a more advanced treatment. Ideal candidates include those with maturing skin seeking anti-aging benefits, visible fine lines, wrinkles, and skin laxity, sun damage and persistent discoloration, adult acne with textural concerns, and dehydrated skin that would benefit from deeper exfoliation paired with hydration. Treatments are typically spaced 4–6 weeks apart, and a series of sessions may be recommended for optimal results.
